The Action Key - The Fifth Key of the Positivity Keys

The action key is the fifth key of the seven positivity keys. Talking about action means you know you have to do something. Right? We've been talking about how our thoughts create things, how they are driven by our intentions, and how we can visualize and see things happening. We can put our feelings into it and pay attention to how we feel about things to bring about more positivity into our lives. And behind all of those, we actually have to do something. That's action, the action key, where things are going to start to take shape. And you're going to realize through your intentional steps that it's going to drive change. It's going to integrate with the other keys of positivity and it's going to transform your life.

Turning our thoughts and intentions into a tangible reality is going to be fueled by us. I have lots of tools in my life that I use in day-to-day activities so that I can keep myself on track. And I never stop. I never stop learning. I never stop using tools. I never stop thinking about how I can create a better self and how I can give more to others. And one of the things that I do is use my bathroom mirror as a way to remind myself of my affirmations and my self-talk. And every morning when I get up, I look at the bathroom mirror, of course, to get ready for my day. Put my makeup on, do my hair. And one of the tools that I use is to take a Sharpie and I write on my bathroom mirror and I put the things that I want to solidify in my brain and in my thinking process. So me actually taking that sharpie and writing on the bathroom mirror is in action. It's me doing something to make change come about.

If we talk about it, we think about it, we talk about it, we think some more about it and we talk about some stuff some more. It's never going to go anywhere unless you actually put action into it.

So last time we were talking about the feelings key and our scenario where we were in the grocery store and we were getting aggravated because the person was in front of us. They had so many coupons and they were taking forever and we were frustrated. We had to think about what our feelings were and why we were feeling that way and how to shift out of that energy. The actual shift part, the part where we make ourselves do something is the action behind it all. That's where the strength comes from. You can put as many plans into place as you want, but unless you actually do something about that plan, it's never going to move forward.

First, you have to be really clear about what your goal is. If I want more positivity in my life and I want to be that person who doesn't get aggravated in the grocery store, then I have to teach myself how to. I don't know if I can say that I'm never going to get aggravated, but I can get aggravated less and I can learn how to create more balance and harmony inside of myself so that I don't have to feel that aggravation most of the time. I'm going to be a lot more laid back and relaxed about things that are happening that are outside of my control or that somebody else in the collective is happening to.  When you're clear about what it is that you want and you understand what the goal is that you're trying to achieve, then your actions are going to be aligned with those intentions.

Divide them up into little baby steps. Just making them into tiny little baby steps is going to start you in the right direction on the path that you're supposed to be going on if you don't want to overwhelm yourself. If you try to do too much at one time, sometimes it becomes overwhelming and then you kind of give up. Make a commitment to yourself that you're going to approach one action that's dedicated to resolving something or some want in your life.

If you want less anxiety, then make the decision that you're going to set some time apart to do tapping method. If you want to create more self-talk, that's more positive, you're going to write an affirmation on your bathroom mirror. All of these tools. Make that commitment to yourself about how those actions are going to come about, what you're going to do with them, and what your dedication is to resolve those things that you want to change. And then be super consistent about it. If you want to build your momentum, then you have to do it regularly.

I work in optics. Sometimes people come in and they need a progressive no-line bifocal for the first time because they cannot see up close anymore, but they want to be able to put their glasses on and not have to take them on and off all day. Well, progressive bifocal is a little bit tricky to understand how to learn it and how to see well through it. You can't just put them on and it just be this magical tool. Most of the time, you have to learn how to use it. So what I tell people is that it takes 21 days to actually form a habit. And about two weeks into that is when the ease starts to come about. So if you really want something to change and you really want more positivity in your life, I challenge you to take at least the first two weeks and say, this is a set intention. This is my goal. This is where I'm going to have this is what's going to happen. And I'm going to do this and then take it and break it up into little baby steps, things little small things that you can do each day so that it doesn't overwhelm you. And then in about 21 days, you're going to start to notice little shifts and little changes in yourself.

You know that 365 daily desktop calendar with positive affirmations and motivational thought-provoking messages is there as a tool for you to keep yourself on track to making the small things make small changes to make big things happen in your life.

Action is going to be one of the biggest things that you can do to put all those other keys into practice.

We're going to start out with our thoughts and we're going to pay attention to them. We're going to be aware of them. We're going to put our intention behind that. We're going to build our goal and our aim and our purpose. We're going to then visualize it. We're going to see it. We're going to really see all the details of what we actually want in our lives to show up. Then we're going to put our feeling behind that. We're going to pay attention to how it makes us feel the energy that's inside of our body, the goosebumps, the way that that gut feeling that you get of whether it's going in the right direction or the wrong direction. We're going to choose that and then we're going to put actions behind it to make it transform.
